Between birth (natality) and the world: plurality as a path to freedom in Arendt
Keywords:
Natality. World. Plurality. Freedom.Abstract
In The Human Condition, published in 1958, Hannah Arendt formulates a theory of political action based on fundamental experiences of human life, such as labor, work, and action. In this context, the concepts of birth (natality), world, and plurality intertwine as pathways that make freedom possible. This article seeks to understand how plurality is an essential link between birth and the world. To this end, we chose bibliographic research as our methodology. Our central question is: if natality inaugurates the capacity to act and the world is the space of action, how does plurality constitute a pathway to freedom? We aim to present the interconnected concepts of natality, world, and plurality based on Hannah Arendt's thought.
