Dom Lino Deodato and the uniqueness of the Church: synodality and the good of the spouse of Christ

The article presents the Synod held by Dom Lino Deodato Rodrigues de Carvalho, in 1888. The bishop made the Ecumenical Councils of Trent (1545-1563) and Vatican I (1869-1870) present at the Church in São Paulo. Dom Lino Deodato wanted the Church of São Paulo to be in tune with the Church in Rome. The Bride of Christ has taken steps and opened windows to contemporaneity. In continuous agreement with the Ecumenical Councils and in harmony with the Church, Pope Francis has sought to dialogue with the world and has shown interest in making the Bride of Christ always synodal. Remembering the 137th anniversary of the Synod in São Paulo, in 1888, and remembering the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council (1962-1965), let us witness the unfolding of the Unity of the Church and seek to live Synodality with joy and enthusiasm.
