Author Guidelines

Revista Kairós publishes scientific articles, reviews and translations written in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, Italian and German.

Authors must inform Kairós if the scientific texts are the result of funding, if there are any conflicts of interest in their publication and, in the case of more than one author, delimit the contribution made by each one.

The authors must inform, at the time of sending, the links referring to their Orcid and their Curriculum Lattes.

Formatting rules for publishing texts

Kairós adopts the following bibliographic and formatting standards:

Source: Times New Roman (size 12 for the body of the text and 10 for indented quotes and footnotes).

Spacing between lines: 1.5 (body text) and simple (abstract, keywords, indented quotation and footnotes).

Margins: Top and left 3cm; bottom and right 2cm.

Title: Size 12, upper case, bold, centered.

Abstract: Size 12, single-spaced, between 150-250 words.

Keywords: three to six. Size 12, single-spaced.

Referencing style: the use of the author-data system (AUTHOR, YEAR) is recommended. Footnotes should be used for explanatory notes only.

Citations: up to three lines must appear in the body of the text, in quotation marks and referenced through the author-data system. Quotations starting with four lines should be indented 4 cm from the left margin, with simple spacing between lines and Times New Roman font size 10.

References: They must appear in the body of the text in an author-date system and in full form at the end of the text. Here is the reference format:

BOOK: CANDIDO, Raphaela. Roger Bacon: o sentido moral do conhecimento. Fortaleza: Editora Caminhar, 2020.

(Orgs.). Filosofia, Ensino, Temas e Objetos. Curitiba: CRV, 2019. p. 35-55.

ARTICLE: SOUSA, Maria Celeste de. Max Scheler e Lima Vaz: A dimensão antropológica do espírito. Revista Kairós, Fortaleza, v. 15, n. 1, p. 69-81.

If the authors want to have access to the Template with the magazine's rules, they can do so by accessing here.

All cases not covered in general must comply with ABNT rules for formatting scientific texts.

In the case of articles, reviews and translations that do not comply with these standards, the archive of the academic text will be forwarded to the authors to make the necessary readjustments.

Artigos

Article - must be unpublished, comply with the rules adopted by the journal, contain 10-20 pages including title, abstract and keywords, abstract and keywords in second language, introduction, development, final considerations and bibliographic references.

Resenha

Review - the purpose of this type of scientific text is to make a critical presentation of a publication. It is recommended that the review describe a recent work (at most five years after its publication) and be between 3-10 pages.

Traduções

Translations – the purpose of this scientific text is to offer a given scientific community a text previously unpublished in their language. There is no page limit for this text, but it is suggested that translations longer than 25 pages be published in book and/or book chapter format rather than in journals. Kairós requests that translations be accompanied by authorization from the authors and/or their institutions, and the original material, from which the translation was based.
